Early-Season Apple Varieties

Zestar Our earliest apple is bright red with
greenish-yellow coloring. It is medium-sized and has a crisp, grainy flesh that is very juicy. This
apple is sweet and is excellent for snacking as well as baking and making sauces.
This is one of the newest varieties of apples.
Developed in 1998 by the University of Minnesota, it is a cross between a State Fair apple and the
MN477 apple.

Paula
Red This apple has a bright red outer skin with yellow to tan spots. Its flesh
is cream colored, crisp-textured and it has a slightly tart flavor. It is excellent for baking,
cooking or just as a snack.

Ginger Gold
This slightly tart apple sports a pale green outer skin with an occasional tinge of red. It has a
cream-colored crisp textured flesh. Excellent for baking, cooking and as a snack.
