Early-Season Apple Varieties
Late August to Early September

Zestar
Our earliest apple is bright red with greenish-yellow coloring. It is medium-sized and has a crisp, grainy flesh that is very juicy. This apple is sweet and is excellent for snacking as well as baking and making sauces.

This is one of the newest varieties of apples. Developed in 1998 by the University of Minnesota, it is a cross between a State Fair apple and the MN477 apple.
