Early Season Apples
|
Zestar
Our earliest apple is bright red with greenish-yellow
coloring. Medium sized, it has a crisp, white, grainy
flesh that is very juicy. This apple is sweet and
is excellent for snacking as well as baking and sauces.
Stores in the refrigerator for 6 to 8 weeks.
This is one of the newest variety of apples
developed in 1998 by the University of Minnesota. It is
a cross between the State Fair and the MN 477 apples. |

Paula Red
This apple has a bright red outer skin with yellow to tan
spots. Its flesh is cream-colored, crisp-textured and
has a slightly tart flavor. Excellent for baking, cooking or
just as a snack.

Ginger Gold
This slightly tart apple sports a pale green outer skin
with a tinge of red and a cream colored crisp textured flesh.
Excellent for baking or cooking and as a snack.
This variety was discovered on Ginger
Harvey's orchard in Virginia, hence the name "Ginger Gold".
This apple happens to be a chance seedling which is unique in
that it was not developed in a research center where many
varieties are developed. |
